Thought I’d share some recent work from the past week. We’ve been working with several company’s to help them shed their old look and bring in a new flashy and fresh image. Been a lot of fun over the past couple of weeks, dealing with the heat hasn’t been a blast but all the subjects and subject matter has been great to work with. First up a local construction company that is in the process of mixing it up helping them stand out in the future.

Next up a couple of Arthur De Vany who we’ve worked with before for Der Spiegel, new PR images for his new book.

We also just finished a couple assignment shoots, some covers, some talent, some waiting, some heat, you name it, more down the road….

When was the last time you actually printed a picture for yourself? how many images do you have stored on drives and in the depths of your computer that will never get printed? how many boxes of old slide and 120 film are hiding in the back of your closet that hasn’t seem the light of day in years? Come on, I can keep going. We shoot hundreds of thousands of pictures each week, and do you want to know how many I actually print out for myself? normally 000000, sucks, I know. That said it’s time to change, starting….. well yesterday with our new little Polaroid 300, small e-z to use, cool, sleek, comes in many colors, did I mention it was e-z to use, anyway been sporting a new rig around my neck, o.k. wrist. Thing is killer, I don’t have to deal with calibration, skin tones, just fire away and it prints it our for me…. so cool….

Back to my point, take a picture and one you like and print it our, frame it, give it to a friend, love it for yourself, just enjoy it in your hands and not the boring screen of your computer……

One thing that can be hard is describing what your field of dreams looks like, it might be lots of toys and bling, private jets, family, love, whatever the case everyones dreams are different. The other night I was searching for nothing other then a nice scene, something that would take my mind away for just a short time. That night I found my “Field of Dreams” only for a second then it was gone.

Summer is more then half over and things have been pretty crazy around the studio, loads of new plans in the works. Fall is ramping up to be super busy from assignments to commercial projects, including some new stuff we can’t yet talk about, dang because it’s cool. For starters it’s been hot, example yesterday we were on location shooting and I was fighting the heat for the angle I wanted. Wearing shorts I knelt down on the concrete to get lower and wham instant burn on the old knees. Dang middle of the day shooting was not the best idea, but sometimes you have to work around several factors and we were out of options and needed to get the job done. Needless to say I’m looking forward to cooler temps and the projects the fall will bring. Below is some recent stuff, from big lights to small it seems like we’ve been shooting all sort of things…..

Deciding to call Vegas home was not an easy choice for me to make some 12 years ago, I’m not a big city guy, I like the slower pace of a small town. There are two reasons why I decided to call Vegas home. One, because it’s the best place to rock climb year around outside on some of the hardest routes in the country, and two I met Trish, my wife. Now that several years have past since I first decided to stay in Vegas many things have changed, some good, some not so good. Love the fact I can get anything I want 24 hours a day, also hate the fact I can get anything I want 24 hours a day. Love the fact Vegas is so easy to travel into and out of, hate the fact traffic sucks on the strip. Love the fact you can climbing and ski in the same day, hate the fact no one recycles. Love the fact fall, winter, and spring are perfect temps, hate the fact summer is stinking HOT. Love the fact we can work here full-time as photographers, hate the fact most people don’t know who lives next store to them. Just some random thoughts on this HOT Monday…

PRD is something me and my friends used to joke around about all the time. We’d often spend weeks climbing in remote areas in the mountains, seeing no one other then each other for weeks, life seemed to move slower during those times. Much of our July has been spent out of Vegas, we escaped the heat and hustle of the city to work on a couple projects in the mountains of Utah, the pace of life in the mountains is just different and refreshing. Now that we are back to the studio in Vegas PRD has been setting in, not only am I noticing it in myself, but I think our dogs have been getting hit hard by it. At least we have the chance to go through PRD, I’d rather have it then not……
Over the past month or so we’ve been in and out of town working on a couple projects, and when we have been in town we’ve been shooting a bunch of assignment work including covers and some editorial stuff. Anyway the other day I was heading back to the home base in the middle of nowhere when I was stopped dead in my tracks by a sheep drive heading directly at me, pretty cool to see that really cowboys and cowgirls still exist.
